Clouseau is Real

Inspector Jacques Clouseau is alive and on the loose!

French police take 2 years to uncover time of death

BREST, France (AFP) — French police who spent two years trying to identify a woman who was murdered by a blow to the head were relieved to discover the reason their efforts were failing: the woman died half a millennium ago. The skeleton of a woman in her 30s was found during an exceptionally low tide in December 2003 near the seaside Brittany town of Plouezoc'h. A long gash in the skull convinced investigators she was killed with a hatchet or other sharp implement. Police ploughed through missing persons' files to no avail. A theory that the woman was the wife of a Normandy doctor who disappeared with his family in a famous 1999 case was dismissed after DNA tests. Eventually radiocarbon dating established that the death had occurred between 1401 and 1453. "We are satisfied because at least we know the date now," said Francois Gerthosser of the Plourin-les-Morlaix police. "We reckon it was pirates."

Photograph shows Cyclopes, a kitten born with a single cyclopic eye. Cy, short for Cyclopes, a kitten born with only one eye and no nose, is shown in this photo provided by its owner in Redmond, Oregon, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005. The kitten, a ragdoll breed, which died after living for one day, was one of two in the litter. Its sibling was born normal and healthy.

Weapon Carry law

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was spotted over the weekend! He and other anti-PPA people had a press conference over at State Fair Park. They were/are claiming we will have wild west type situations at all the festivals because the act does not include these events in the ‘banned’ areas. This is another way from the left to take away from the law-abiding citizens their constitutional right to bear arms and to protect themselves and their families using any means they so choose. The JS has this in their article: Under the bill, people 21 and older would be allowed to carry concealed weapons after passing a course, provided they had not been convicted of felonies or certain misdemeanors, such as for domestic violence. Among the places people would be able to carry firearms are the grounds of State Fair Park and Summerfest.I am not a lawyer, but I do see a loophole in the law that gives the examples a way to ban weapons. Hint, these are government owned facilities.Instead of opening up the way for people to carry concealed weapons, Barrett said, the Legislature should be working to rid Wisconsin of illegal guns. There are laws on the books that prevent the sales of weapons to certain people; the people committing crimes with weapons do not care about those or any other laws and that makes it illegal. In addition, is it not the job of the local and state police to enforce the laws set forth?

Good article In the J.S.

It's not often that I agree with the J.S. But in today's paper they wrote a story on blogging that does make sense and goes to both sides of the political aisle. To read it go to http://www.jsonline.com/news/state/jan06/388511.asp.

Heating Bill

You think our WE-Energy bills were high.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio - Lewis Miller joked with his son as he opened his gas bill that the amount likely would give him a heart attack. Then, he saw that The Energy Cooperative of Newark had billed him $8,095 for the first nine days of service on his new account for his apartment.

"I thought I was just going to lay down and die," Miller said. He then had an anxious weekend because he received the bill Friday and couldn't get a hold of the gas company until Monday.

When Miller reached the Energy Cooperative, the error was corrected.

Brian Byrd, a spokesman for the utility, said the company apologized to Miller for its mistake.

"These things are very rare, but they can happen," Byrd said.

The company suspects that a contractor mixed up or misread the numbers while taking a reading of Miller's meter. The information is downloaded into a computer that checks for billing errors by looking at what a customer was charged in the past. Since Miller's account was new, there was nothing to compare it to, Byrd said.

I added the emphasis. Sure blame a contractor don't blame the computer. How bad do you have to mix up the numbers to get that kind of number, if its true?I found this at Yahoo! news

Mark Reardon

Mark Reardon

WTMJ truly regrets to announce that Mark Reardon has left Newsradio 620 WTMJ, effective immediately. His leaving is the result of 2006 station budget adjustments.Mark has been a loyal, hard-working employee and we sincerely thank him for his years of service to WTMJ.Mark has certainly been a favorite of many listeners. Both listeners and the station will miss him. We wish him the best.

When I read this my initial reaction was shock. After thinking about it, it does make sense (sorry Mark). But mangements blaming it on "budget adjustments" can not the whole story.

This station carries the Bucks, Brewers, Badgers and the Packers and they pay to broadcast those games. I suspect that the Bucks and the Brewers cut into the time slot that Mark was in, in turn his program was not generating the income wanted by the mangement. Too bad, I enjoyed his program when I was able to listen.

Hidden Agenda?

In my travels this weekend, I noticed something I find somewhat disturbing. Walgreen’s and Starbucks are taking over. These two out of state corporations are virtually everywhere. I when I did a search on Walgreens website to find out how many stores are in the area. I discovered that they have 53 locations that are within 10 miles of me and Starbucks website shows only 31.

A cause to back

This is an old cause that we need to bring back to the forefront. BAN DIHYDROGEN MONOXIDE!Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.Dihydrogen monoxide:
  • is also known as hydroxl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.
  • contributes to the "greenhouse effect."
  • may cause severe burns.
  • contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
  • accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
  • may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
  • has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.
Contamination is reaching epidemic proportions!Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage in the midwest, and recently California.Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:
  • as an industrial solvent and coolant.
  • in nuclear power plants.
  • in the production of styrofoam.
  • as a fire retardant.
  • in many forms of cruel animal research.
  • in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
  • as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer! The American government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its "importance to the economic health of this nation." In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.

Why I Blog

In the last several weeks I have revealed that I blog to several friends and associates. The general reaction has been unbelief and/or disdain. Oh, you are on of those, is the most common statement. Then the question of what kind of things do you post is next, and what makes you qualified to blog? Well, I answer with the following:
  • I write about anything I want to talk about
  • I have opinions
  • If I see something wrong I want to get the word out
  • If I see something going well I want to get the word out
  • The local newspaper will not or can not publish everything I or others send to them in the letters to the Editor section
  • Therapy. The last time I was unemployed, I started a diary on my computer that helped to keep me upbeat.
My qualifications or right to blog
  • I am not trained as a reporter and do not represent myself as one, but I can write in coherent sentences
  • I am a citizen of the United States of America
  • The First Amendment gives me the right
  • I have opinions and views on matters that affect me or my family
  • I have a vested interest in what my country does both internally and globally
  • My Beliefs

If you agree or disagree with the opinions expressed, that is no big deal to me. For the most part, we bloggers do not bash opposing views or people, but want a fair and honest debate on the issues that affect us all. Most blogs that I read and have seen are trying to get the other side of the story out into the public. We citizens of this wonderful country have the right and duty to voice or opinions(no matter how assinine). The general public and the mainstream media does not get that point. The MSM has dismissed the blogger and tries to limit or eliminate the forum. Yet, blogging has grown in numbers and include the some of the same MSM people that put this forum down to begin with.BLOG ON!

Tire problem

I got this from Fox 6 Police Hunt For Tire Slashing Vandals(Milwaukee, January 13, 2006) Police still don't know what sent a pair of teenagers on a tire-slashing spree. It happened overnight on Milwaukee's south side near 18th and Arthur. The vandals cut 38 tires... in all they wrecked 17 cars. Police found and arrested the teenagers in a house nearby. A lot of their victims had to take off of work to fix the flat tires. Some say they don't have car insurance or enough money to repair their cars. Neighbors say vandalism to cars isn't uncommon on their block. The teenagers could be charged with felony damage to property. This copy from Channel 12's site:
POSTED: 6:25 pm CST January 13, 2006
Dozens of people in one south side Milwaukee neighborhood awoke Friday morning to find their car tires slashed.Vandals hit 21 vehicles parked along the street near 18th and Arthur.Ramiro Aguilar said he heard a sound early in the morning and called 911.About three-dozen tires were damaged. Police said the damage appears to have been done with a knife.Police arrested two adult men after finding them hiding in a house in the neighborhood. They face charges of criminal damage to property. This is from the JS:Your eyes and computer are not missing anything, the JS declined to print anything(online) on the story. The questions are: 1) How old are these people? One story has them as teens, the other as adults. 2) How long before these people see a trial or court date?

Cycle Bug

I am getting the get out the bike bug. It is warm enough to not snow, yet cold enough not to take the motorcycle out of storage. I have seen a couple of bikes on the road in the last several days, and that is probably why I am getting that bug. My mind has been going crazy with thoughts of driving on some back roads, getting fresh air in my lungs, bugs in my face and the small towns that I ‘discover’.
I used to take drives in my cars, but I never truly have had the same feeling I get from the bike. In my SUV, I cannot fully enjoy the smells and the world around me. On the bike, I am able to enjoy the scenery and smells that are out there. I am notice more things riding that I ignore while in the SUV. Things like how the roads really drive, how a farmers field really smells, and how people react to motorcycles.
If in the spring to fall I do not blog for several days, I will probably be on the bike. If you see a Vulcan or any other types of bike please give some space. It is just me or one of my fellow bikers enjoying the day.

Irony By Kane

In reviewing Eugene Kane’s blog, I came upon something very ironic. In October, he wrote:

MONDAY, Oct. 24, 2005, 2:16 p.m.Definitely not the Olsen twins I missed the ABC News special on these twins, upcoming teen music stars with the unique distinction of being white nationalists who sing songs about preserving the white race and raised money to help victims of Hurrican Katrina - but only the white people.I was shocked at the tale of these young singers spreading racist hate but maybe I shouldn't be.I would be interested if readers think this is a good thing or something more ominous. It's amazing to me such angelic looking children are being used for such a disturbing mission.

I hear the same talk from so-called leaders and ‘artists’ in the black community. Like Louis Farrakhan, his speeches and views are equal to the KKK and the like. How about good old Michael McGee who back in his prime (and still going on) was and is blatantly racist and advocated violence to disrupt ‘white peoples fun’. Yet Kane does not really denounce those, using the free speech or the race card as an argument. Racism no matter who says it is BAD.
OH BTW Mr. Kane, use the spell checker on your computer. It is Hurricane not Hurrican.

Boredom setting in

Sitting here bored, unemployed, and needing my poker fix I turned on the satellite to watch what was on. So I turned on Celebrity Poker Showdown Giving to good causes is a good and noble thing. I do not need a format like playing poker or an event to give to a good cause, and I have given money and a part of myself to causes without fanfare, and I do not want any. The really sad part of this is that I watched Rosie O’Donnell, Penny Marshall, Mo Gaffney, Travis Tritt, and Eddie Cibrian play some bad poker. I actually watched Rosie for an hour, I need to wash my eyes and brain after that.

Airport

MMAC proposed and two legislators have drafted a bill to take control and ownership away from Milwaukee county of Mitchell International and give it to a regional board set up by the state. According to the article in the JS “Timmerman Airport, also owned by Milwaukee County and also located in Milwaukee, would be governed by the new airport authority, as well. But the authority would not take over other publicly owned small airports in the seven-county region, such as Waukesha County's Crites Field, West Bend Municipal Airport, and Kenosha Regional Airport.” The reason why “Stone said the authority would be mandatory for Mitchell because of its regional and statewide economic importance, and Timmerman would be included because it shares Mitchell's fee revenue. But other airports may get some property tax support and wouldn't fit as well into an authority without taxing power, he said.” (http://www.jsonline.com/news/metro/dec05/381336.asp). The public statements by MMAC and the legislators involved in drafting the proposal claim it is for the greater good of the region. However, the real agendas I can see are to 1. Mess with Scott Walker in his bid to become Gov. and 2. Have another taxing agency. The legislators and MMAC claim now that this board will have no taxing authority, but that can change in a hurry when the taxers get control of the airports. They will use the same logic later to include the others and to make it a taxing authority. This will not happen immediately, I think it will happen within five maybe 7 years. As far as messing with Scott Walker, this move will make it appear that he cannot govern or control anything under his watch, and cannot be trusted to run the state or even the county if he loses his bid to become gov. If MMAC and others are truly concerned over the greater good of the region, do not go after what is successful go after what is not working.

Ironic

It has been brought to my attention that there is an ironic situation here. Yes, I wrote an anti-evolution piece and yet I have a link to the Darwin awards. At the time it did not dawn on me as to the irony of the situation. The awards are a collection of stupid human stories that are named for the man that brought evolution into main stream thinking. I am not opposed to the idea of evolution, but my point is that it is not the only 'theory' to life on this planet (or others). Thank you Elliot from www.fromwhereisit.org for pointing it out.
